Are you a rebellious Christian? Do you believe that you are following Christ and that you are a Christian? Do you think that since you believe in God you will go to Heaven when you die? Or perhaps you add to that your attendance in church on Sunday morning (always putting an offering in the plate when it is passed), keeping Christmas, Easter, Halloween and even attending special prayer meetings on Wednesday evening, and then believe you are some really dedicated Christian who worships God fervently?

Have you ever wondered about Christmas? From the time you first found out there really was no Santa Claus, did you ever question other aspects of this incredible holiday – one that so much of the world takes for granted? Did you ever wonder where Christmas came from?

Is it in the Bible? From where do all the unusual symbols surrounding the celebration of this day come? Why a Christmas tree? Where did the idea of Santa Claus originate? God To Earth ... Katrina Is Here! Do I Have Your Attention Now?

Was God's hand in the recent hurricane named Katrina? Was God's hand in the destruction of the twin towers in New York in Sept. 2001? Was God's hand in the Tsunami which caused so much destruction in Asia? Was God's hand in the major earthquakes that have caused destruction around the world? IS God's hand in these incurable diseases of cancer, heart trouble, HIV, and many more?

YES! But probably not in the way that most people understand!

What is your "faith"? Are you Catholic, Baptist, Presbyterian, Unitarian, Methodist, or any one of the other denominations of this earth? For that matter, ARE you part of a "denomination" at all? Are your beliefs active? Do you force your beliefs upon others, as those of the Islamic faith do?

The Faith Which Was Once Delivered

Jude mentions the "faith which was once delivered unto the saints" and he says it is something for which we are to CONTEND (strive for, maintain, claim). (Jude 1:3)

Just what IS that FAITH which he tells us to claim as our own? This society is composed of many, many striving, fighting, fussing church "faiths" who all have confusing, unfounded doctrines upon which their faith is based. If all people who 'profess Christ' are truly Christian, why is there so much fighting and confusion?

How Are The Dead Raised Up? ... and With What Body Do They Come?

When a discussion about the resurrection comes up in conversations, there is usually much confusion with most people for just about everyone goes to the book of Revelation when they discuss that subject.

Of course, (in my opinion) that is not a good place to start that kind of discussion because the Book of Revelation is filled with symbolism that can be quite confusing if one doesn't have a good, solid knowledge of the whole Bible.

Paul told us something very important in 2 Cor. 11:13-15.

"For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works."

Basic Christianity: The Chosen

In this series on basic Christianity, I am trying to get back to the very basics of being a Christian. I have been detoured at times by God's Spirit to write about some things which are truly basic but not in the vein of basic Christianity as we know it.

The last article in this series was titled, "Basic Christianity: The Called". This of course is the first foundational step toward being a true Christian. The next step is being CHOSEN by God.
