The Faith Which Was Once Delivered

Jude mentions the "faith which was once delivered unto the saints" and he says it is something for which we are to CONTEND (strive for, maintain, claim). (Jude 1:3)

Just what IS that FAITH which he tells us to claim as our own? This society is composed of many, many striving, fighting, fussing church "faiths" who all have confusing, unfounded doctrines upon which their faith is based. If all people who 'profess Christ' are truly Christian, why is there so much fighting and confusion?

Many ministers teach that the faith Jude was speaking of is the faith a person has when they first answer the call of God and are baptized. However, THAT is NOT the faith Jude was speaking about!! Unless, of course, what you learned is what the Bible teaches, and not what some man says is the truth! In order to learn exactly what that faith was, we must let Jesus tell us. Jesus is The Word, and the Bible is The Printed Word.

We are told that we should "let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus." (Phil. 2:5) That MIND was, of course, the mind of God the Father. That MIND is God's HOLY SPIRIT which teaches us to think like God thinks, to feel like God feels, and to UNDERSTAND God's way of thinking. THAT is the mind which was in Christ Jesus and we are to let that mind BE IN US!!

When we let God's Holy Spirit (His Mind) function within us, we can begin to truly understand what that faith is that was once delivered to the Saints.

We need to begin in the Book of Matthew chapter 5 and verse 1.

"And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:

"And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,"

Please notice. Although this is called a sermon this was NOT a sermon! It was a private teaching session apart from the multitudes. Jesus took them to a private place alone. Thus begins the "faith" once delivered to the saints (Jesus' disciples).

verse 3 "Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."

Notice ... He speaks about the Kingdom OF Heaven, NOT IN Heaven. This is NOT telling them they would go to Heaven when they die. Were it so, it would be directly contradicting another scripture in the Book of John. Also, to be 'poor' in spirit does NOT mean 'lacking' in spirit. It means HUMBLE in spirit!!

John 3:13 "And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven."

In Red Letter Bibles this is shown as a direct statement of Jesus Himself. We must realize, however, that this was written by John AFTER Jesus' resurrection from the dead so the last phrase, even the son of man which is in heaven, was inserted by John and was not a part of the statement Jesus made earlier but which has been attributed to Jesus by bible translators.

Jesus KNEW no man had ever ascended to heaven because He had been there (as The Word God - John 1:1) and had first hand knowledge about that. Had anyone "gone to heaven" at their death, surely King David (a man after God's own heart) would have done so, but we have scriptural evidence that this did NOT happen.

Acts 2:29 "Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre (his grave) is with us unto this day.
Acts 2:34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,"

David's grave was there at that time and he was in it! He had NOT ascended into heaven!!

The Bible is replete with proof that no one goes to heaven when they die and this is part of that faith once delivered to the saints by Jesus.

It also shows us in no uncertain terms that the Kingdom will be set up ON THIS EARTH at Jesus' return.

Rev. 11:15 "And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever."

What does this part of "the faith once delivered" teach us then?

It teaches us that all the traditional Christian church teachings about going to heaven when one dies is wrong!! Would there possibly be other things which they teach that are wrong?

Back to Matthew 5:

Verse 4-5 "Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth."

Those who mourn shall be comforted after the return of Christ to this earth. Then THE MEEK will INHERIT THE EARTH. Please be advised, meek does not mean weak. Meekness has to do with humility and the absence of vanity. Jesus was meek and humble, but He certainly wasn't weak, was He?

Notice again, the reward of the saved is NOT HEAVEN! It is THE EARTH, albeit a very different kind of earth where righteousness reigns. Not avarice, greed, hatred, and such of the spirit of satan, for he will be bound and cannot influence those living on earth at that time. (that's another article subject).

Continuing with "the faith once delivered."

Mat. 5:6 "Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled"

To hunger and thirst after righteousness is to crave the ability to keep God's Commandments perfectly and to be exactly like Him in thought, deed and existence. Scripture tells us here, and Jesus told His disciples, that they (and we) would be FILLED WITH RIGHTEOUSNESS at the return of Christ after the resurrection! We know also from scripture that righteousness is THE KEEPING OF GOD'S COMMANDMENTS!

Ps. 119:172 "My tongue shall speak of thy word: for all thy commandments are righteousness."

To OBEY God's commandments is to BE righteous, don't you see? At Christ's return they, and we, will be FILLED completely with God's Holy Spirit (His Mind) and WILL BE RIGHTEOUS!!

What does this part of "the faith" teach us?

That those who seek to OBEY God's Commandments, statutes and Laws will be the people COMPLETELY FILLED WITH THE SPIRIT OF GOD AT THE RESURRECTION!!

More about "the faith."

Mat. 5:7-9 "Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God."

What the disciples were being told here is that God's Mind (His Spirit) is merciful, pure and peaceful. These, of course, are attributes of God's Holy Character which they, and we, will inherit when we are resurrected and receive that FULLNESS OF THE SPIRIT which will be given to us at that first resurrection.

They, and we, will be able to actually SEE God for we will be LIKE Him, and we will BE SPIRIT-BORN CHILDREN OF GOD as it shows in Romans 8.

Rom. 8:14-17 "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption (son-ship), whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together."

JOINT-HEIRS with Jesus the Christ, and Children of the Living God!! WOW!! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?

This is just a part of that FAITH ONCE DELIVERED TO THE SAINTS and it teaches us that we will ALSO be members of God's Family just as Jesus is NOW one with God (John 17:21-22)!!

Mat. 5:10-12 "Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you."

Here again we see that the reward of those who persevere righteously will inherit the kingdom OF Heaven (NOT IN HEAVEN). Our REWARD is IN Heaven AT THIS TIME but Jesus will bring it WITH HIM when He returns.

Matthew 16:27 "For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works."
Revelation 22:12 "And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be."

Just what IS that REWARD that Christ brings with Him? This also is part of "the faith once delivered to the Saints"?

Colossians 3:24 "Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ."

Yes, it is that INHERITANCE mentioned in Romans 8, to become a TRUE SPIRIT-BORN, IMMORTAL SON OF GOD and to be a JOINT-INHERITOR with Jesus the Christ!!!

WOW!!! WHAT A MAGNIFICENT TRUTH that Jesus delivered to His Saints there so long ago in Jerusalem!!!!

And I MUST say it, even though I know it will cramp some people mightily because of the deception under which they are living ....

CHILDREN OF GOD WILL THEN BE GOD ... A VERY SPIRIT MEMBER OF THAT HEAVENLY FAMILY WITH POWERS BEYOND OUR WILDEST DREAMS BECAUSE THEN THEY WILL BE IMMORTAL SPIRIT BEINGS!!! THEY WILL THEN HAVE BECOME ONE WITH HIM, as mentioned in John 17:21-22!

We will have the very same powers that God Himself has now because we will have inherited the exact same powers which Jesus NOW enjoys as A PART OF THE GOD FAMILY!!!

Need PROOF of that? I would be happy to oblige!!

1 Cor. 15:51-54 "Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory."

I pray that God will speed that day and that you will UNDERSTAND just what I have explained to you above. It is such a magnificent future if we will keep ... "THE FAITH ONCE DELIVERED TO THE SAINTS!"

How do we do that?

I'm glad you asked. I don't like to leave any message I give with a "downer" kind of statement, but with this one I must.

All who are NOT keeping God's Ten Commandments, Statutes (Holy Days) and Laws are NOT keeping that faith once delivered to the Saints!

IF YOU ARE NOT, YOU WILL NOT BE IN THAT FIRST RESURRECTION!!!

What will it be folks? There is NO GREY AREA. There is only right and wrong, good and evil. Those who try to mix good and evil just won't be there!! Those who try to keep holidays, founded upon PAGAN beliefs, and worship God with them will lose out because He DEMANDS TO BE WORSHIPPED IN SPIRIT ... AND IN TRUTH (not in lies). (Deut. 12:28-32)

He will NOT ACCEPT SOMEONE WORSHIPPING HIM using pagan symbols, rites and activities. He is THE ONLY TRUE AND LIVING GOD!!

If you are not keeping God's commandments, statutes and laws AS HE COMMANDS, then you MUST REPENT and begin living a righteous life or Jesus will say in that day:

Mat. 7:22-23 "Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity (lawlessness)."

What does "the faith once delivered to the Saints" teach us?

That we must renounce all the traditional, pagan based, holidays of so-called Christianity today and begin to KEEP God's Seventh Day Sabbath and Holy Days shown in Leviticus 23. It shows us that we MUST begin to KEEP God's Ten Commandments, and it shows us that GOD COMMANDS US IN HOW WE WORSHIP HIM!!

He will NOT accept any less from us! May God bless your understanding and give you "the faith once delivered to the Saints"!

Amen. Even so, come Great Jesus!!
