Do YOU Know The Lord? Part 3

The first thing we can learn is that HE HAD A PREVIOUS LIFE. Before He was Jesus, He was someone else!!
Does that shock you? It's TRUE! He was someone else before He became Jesus!

Who Was He?

We find that answer in the Book of John, chapter one and verse one.

1 ¶ In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.

I have written about this in quite a number of our articles which you can read in our Internet Archives. Yes The Word was WITH God, and WAS God! How do I know that He became Jesus of Nazareth? Because the BOOK says so!

We read further down in the Book of John chapter one and verse three that He was the one who MADE ALL THINGS (physical and spiritual). Of course, that is excepting God Almighty.

Verse Ten tells us The Word was "in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world KNEW HIM NOT." Verse 11 tells us He came unto His own (people), "and His own received Him not."

Verse fourteen nails it down with these words:

"And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."

Yes, before His physical life, Jesus was an IMMORTAL spirit being who created EVERYTHING. He was a part of what has been called The GodHead, and in the Book of 1 Timothy 6:15-16 it states this:

"Which in his times he (Jesus Christ) shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;"
"Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto (speaking of God the Father - Editor); whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen."

The One we know as Jesus was the second part of the immortal GodHead! He was the one who MADE ALL THINGS. (Of course, as I said, other than God Almighty, the other part of the GodHead.)

What have we learned about
Jesus up to this point?

1. He lived as The Word God before His birth as Jesus.
2. When He lived as The Word God, He was a part of the IMMORTAL GodHead.
3. He made EVERYTHING that was made.
4. He became a human being and live among His people (the tribe of Judah), who did NOT KNOW Him and did NOT receive Him.
5. As a part of the GodHead, only He and God Almighty were IMMORTAL.

This is quite a bit of knowledge that the vast majority of Christian professing people do not know about Jesus.

However, there is much more. Interested in going on?

I'm going to assume you are interested, if you have read this far, so I will continue with the fascinating information about Jesus.

In order to get some foundational knowledge about Jesus, we need to go back to the very beginning of the Bible and start learning about the GodHead.

Gen. 1:1 ¶ "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth."

As we found out, the creator was The Word God who later became Jesus. So here in verse 1 we have a statement about His creation.
