What does Jesus look like now?
We can find that answer in scripture also. Let's look in the book of Revelation.
Rev. 1:12 And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being
turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks;
13 And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son
of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and
girt about the paps with a golden girdle.
14 His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white
as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;
15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a
furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.
16 And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth
went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun
shineth in his strength.
That is quite something!
He had clothing upon His body. He had a chest (paps). He had feet. He had a head and hair. He had eyes. He had a voice. He had hands. He had a mouth and He had a face.
Yes here is a great spirit being who looked like the Son of Man to John. In other words He looked like one whom John had become very familiar with on this earth. He looked like Jesus, who is described in a number of scriptures as "The Son of Man." A few of those scriptures are recorded in Matthew 8:20; 9:6; 10:23; 12:32, and many more throughout the New Testament.
Since Jesus said those who had seen Him had seen the Father, we can deduce that there was a "family resemblance" where one would know what God the Father looked like.
Through these scriptures we have learned that Spirit Beings have bodies very similar to ours, yet composed of Spirit substance and not physical, although they can appear in human form when they desire or need to do so.
Jesus appeared in human form many times after His resurrection. We can know He is Spirit because He appeared in a locked room with the disciples after His resurrection. That is in:
John 20:19 ¶ Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
And also in:
26 ¶ And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.
When the disciples were out fishing, Jesus was on the shore and was cooking fish.
John 21:5 Then Jesus saith unto them, Children, have ye any meat? They
answered him, No. {Children: or, Sirs}
6 And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship,
and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to
draw it for the multitude of fishes.
7 Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved saith unto Peter, It is the
Lord. Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt his
fisher’s coat unto him, (for he was naked,) and did cast himself
into the sea.
8 And the other disciples came in a little ship; (for they were not
far from land, but as it were two hundred cubits,) dragging the net
with fishes.
9 As soon then as they were come to land, they saw a fire of coals
there, and fish laid thereon, and bread.
10 Jesus saith unto them, Bring of the fish which ye have now caught.
This also was after Jesus' resurrection. It seems from these scriptures that Jesus cooked them a meal of fish, which they had caught, and we can safely deduce that He sat and ATE with them.
Amazing? Yes. These scriptures have been glossed over for many years and yet they show so much about Jesus during His life on earth as a human being and after His resurrection, as a Spirit Being.
I could go on and on, showing you things ABOUT Jesus, but is that REALLY KNOWING Him?
To REALLY KNOW someone, we must know something about them, but also about WHAT and HOW they think!
