Do YOU Know The Lord? Part 7

God has prepared a way for that to happen, and let me say here, "What God wants, God is able to perform!!" With God, NOTHING is impossible!! (Luke 1:37)

There are scriptures that give us this understanding of God and Jesus.

We are told in Philipians 2:5:

"Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:"

That MIND is the MIND of God (His Holy Spirit!). We must receive God's Holy Spirit in order to be saved. (Acts 2:38) We have written extensively about this process in other articles which are in our archives. I implore you, please READ ALL the articles we have on this site to begin to KNOW God and Jesus intimately.

There is, however, something essential to understand about all this. That is explained in the follow scriptures.

1 Cor. 12:1 ¶ Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.
2 Ye know that ye were Gentiles (he is speaking here to Corinthians), carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led.
3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. {accursed: or, anathema}
4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. {administrations: or, ministries}
6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.
7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues (languages); to another the interpretation of tongues (languages):
11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.
12 ¶ For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.
13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. {Gentiles: Gr. Greeks}
14 For the body is not one member, but many.
15 If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
16 And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
17 If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?
18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.
19 And if they were all one member, where were the body?
20 But now are they many members, yet but one body.
21 And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.
22 Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary:
23 And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness. {bestow: or, put on}
24 For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked:
25 That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another. {schism: or, division}
26 And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.
27 ¶ Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.
28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. {diversities: or, kinds}
29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles? {workers…: or, powers?}
30 Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?
31 But covet earnestly (it means "to desire earnestly, pursue the best gifts-Strong's Concordance): and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.

God reveals things to our understanding through the power of His Mind (His Holy Spirit.)

1 Cor. 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned (or understood).
15 But he that is spiritual judgeth (understands) all things, yet he himself is judged (understood) of no man. {judgeth: or, discerneth} {judged: or, discerned}

Each person CALLED by God INTO the BODY (of Christ) has certain talents and gifts that have occurred naturally by the union of his mother and father.

If that person who is called (John 6:44, 65), chooses to accept that call and becomes a member of the Body of Christ, he will receive MORE talents and gifts from God through the power of God's Holy Spirit! After that person's anointing (appointment to a specific place in the Body) God gives those gifts and talents that are necessary to enable that person to DO whatever work God has appointed to that person!

1 Cor. 12:1 ¶ Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.
2 Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led.

30 Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?
31 But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.

Also in Rom. 12:

6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;
7 Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;
8 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness. {giveth: or, imparteth} {with simplicity: or, liberally}
9 Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
10 Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; {with…: or, in the love of the brethren}
11 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;
12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;
13 Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.

And in Eph. 4:

11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: {in: or, into} {stature: or, age}
14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: {speaking…: or, being sincere}
16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

One of those MAGNIFICENT gifts is an understanding of scripture and some insight into HOW GOD THINKS and HOW HE FEELS about many things. That MIND which was in Jesus, has been also given to that member of the body who will take his place within the body (verse 18)where God has decided that person belongs!
