The Way I Love to Start My Day - Poem

As I arise to early morn I greet the wonders of this day,
I pray that God will give me strength and sight to light my way.
I watch the dawn as its breaks to day, the Sun o'er yon hill peep,
Its beauty, to me not lost, so, fine, so grand that I near weep.

My day is on an upward note when, at last the phone will ring,
I hear this voice I've waited for, a word and my heart will sing.
Its my Son! My heart exclaims, so good to hear your voice,
If, in all things, except for God's, if of this I have a choice.

I'd choose to hear that phone to ring and hear one's cheerful tone,
Hello Dad, as it might say, great day! And how's your morn?
My day is made! Now I progress, I'll take all things in cheer,
My work as naught, it's plain to see, they love me true and dear.
