Where are we NOW in Prophecy?

Many people in their ministry have fallen into the trap of trying to predict exactly where we are in prophecy! Many have sunken deeper into the "quicksand" when they tried to predict exactly when Jesus would return to this earth!

This article is an attempt to give us some idea of where we are, within the bounds allowed by God to preach that. Jesus did warn us about trying to be too precise when He said:

Mat. 25:13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

The Apostle Paul believed for awhile that they were living in the end time, but it seems he changed his mind later as other things unfolded.

I believe time is short! I believe we are in "the beginning of sorrows." (Mat. 24:8) But what in the world does that mean?

The disciples had come to Jesus privately, asking questions about the end time. Jesus answered plainly to them.

(All inserts and emphasis is by the Editor.)

Have you read that answer? Do YOU believe what Jesus said?

Mat. 24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? (world=age. The age of mankind's rule on the earth.)
4 ∂ And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

Take HEED that NO MAN deceive you? Have you done that? Do you place what some man, preacher, priest, self-proclaimed prophet, tells you above what God tells you IN HIS WORD?

Yes, many, many preachers have come preaching that Jesus is the Christ, and (according to Jesus) have deceived many! He wasn't saying that people would be coming, claiming to BE Jesus, although there have been those also. He was saying what "religion" would become, preaching a Christ different from the REAL Jesus Christ. (2 Cor. 11:4)

Yes, they have come preaching a namby-pamby, weak, dirty, stringy-haired Jesus who "wouldn't hurt a fly!"

In their deception they, too, have been deceived because the REAL JESUS is NOTHING like that! He obeyed ALL the laws of God and WAS SINLESS, for SIN IS THE BREAKING OF GOD'S LAW. (1 John 3:4)

What was Jesus talking about in the verses above? He said we would hear of wars and rumors of wars, there would be world wars, there would be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes in different places. We have seen all those things, but they are getting WORSE, taking more lives than ever before.

He also said to not be troubled because all these things MUST come to pass, but the end is not yet!

He said all the above things are just the beginning of sorrows. Well, that is pretty bad! What could be worse?

Mat. 24:9 Then shall they deliver you (true Christians) up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my nameís sake. (Just the word Christian now inflames hatred around the world).
10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. (As I asked, Have you been deceived?)
12 And because iniquity (lawlessness) shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. (Not saved yet. We must endure to the end to receive that promise.)
14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. (The Gospel message of the Kingdom of God being set up on this earth with Jesus Christ as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. (Rev. 11:)

No, the "end" is not here yet....but it's getting close!! As we watch for the SIGNS mentioned above, we are supposed to be preaching and sharing that Gospel message of the coming Kingdom of God to all who will hear.

Are you HEEDING? Are you working? Are you sowing the Seed (the Gospel) of that coming Kingdom of God?

DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT THAT TRUE GOSPEL IS? Watch Seven Times for an article detailing that Gospel, the GOOD NEWS of the coming Kingdom of God to THIS EARTH!

Mat. 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved (alive): but for the electís sake those days shall be shortened.

This awesome, terrible, time of trouble would obliterate ALL MANKIND, EXCEPT FOR THE SAKE OF A FEW PEOPLE God calls "The Elect!" These are the twelve tribes of Israel plus spiritual Israel, which is The Church of God, who are called the body of Christ! (1 Cor. 12:27)

Spiritual Israel is the people GOD HAS CALLED, at this time, to be in the First Resurrection to Spirit Life, and to reign WITH Him in that Kingdom of God which will be set up on THIS EARTH!! (Rev. 11:15)

Mt 24:42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
Mt 24:43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.
Mt 25:13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

I'm glad you asked! Prophecy IS to enable us to foretell the future! It is just not to enable us to foretell each little bitty, nitty-gritty, part of it that has been reserved to God. He is the one who determines His TIME TABLE and WILL work out those events to fit His prophecies. God changes events, people and things to make His prophecies work for the good of all, and HAS NOT given us those small details that He, in His Wisdom, might have to change somewhat.

Prophecy has been given to allow us to RECOGNIZE when a particular event, stated by God, happens. This increases our faith! When we go back in scripture and read about prophecies that were fulfilled, our faith is made stronger, allowing us to KNOW and KNOW that we KNOW God is TRUE and ALL POWERFUL. He is ABLE to fulfill any prophecies He has made, unless He changes His mind...as He did with Ninevah and Jonah's preaching. Actually here He didn't CHANGE His Mind. The prophecy was that IF THEY DID NOT REPENT, they would suffer destruction. NINEVAH REPENTED!!!! The king even made the animals wear sack-cloth!!

Some have questioned me, asking if Jesus NOW knows when He will return to earth. My reply is a question.... Is Jesus a man NOW?

Jesus is NO LONGER a man (human being). Since He is AGAIN very God and SHARES EVERYTHING with the Father, it is very probably that He NOW knows the day and the hour!

However, no human being ON THIS EARTH knows the day or the hour of Christ's return! If someone tells you he does, the best thing you can do is disregard anything that man says because he is DECEIVED or he is trying to DECEIVE someone!

RIGHT WHERE GOD AND JESUS WANT US TO BE! We are to KNOW what prophecy says, watch world events, and balance them against the prophecies we know.

If we ARE watching, WE WILL KNOW when a prophecy is being fulfilled, and we will know where we are in prophecy!

THEN and only then can you RECOGNIZE DECEPTION!
